Our mission at the Oklahoma Eye Institute is to provide students an education in eye care that will give them the opportunity to pursue a career as an optician or optometric technician. This is the only program of its kind in Oklahoma. If you possess the initiative to better your life through education, the Oklahoma Eye Institute will prepare you to participate in the service of eye care patients.

Our vision has been to create a program, which provides an unparalleled training experience in eye care. Our hope is that this education will create an educated workforce with the training and skills to meet the needs of the eye care industry. The individual will benefit from both an academic as well as clinical hands-on learning experience, which benefits both the individual and the industry. A graduate from our program will be confident in knowing their new skills will allow them to contribute to the community and the patients they serve.

The field of eye care is challenging, requiring a high level of knowledge and clinical expertise. The busy eye care office must meet the demand of serving an increasing patient load in the current insurance driven market. Eye physicians must increase their patient volume in order to continue practice growth. In order to do so, a highly trained staff is imperative. Our students will be competitive meeting the demands of the local eye care industry.

Staff members in an eye care office can expect to be an integral part of a team whose mission is to serve the community by providing excellent eye and vision care. As a member of an eye care team, you can expect to develop personal relationships with patients you will serve. From experience, I can tell you it is a very rewarding calling.
